I think the high ratings of this place is misleading. So here it is- this place was well decorated. Other than that food was bland. Service was mediocre. Kare-kare was huge chops of meat and bone boiled in water, no salt, seasoned with some mama sitas. Lumpia was frozen from Hmart or Hongkong, definitely not house made. To top it all off, halo halo was just for show. Doesn’t taste good as it looks. Worst part was the soft serve. Reason for the two stars? Pork barbecue, that saved the day.
The place is very nice, it's funny how to get in you have to go through a mini supermarket, I loved it. The atmosphere is nice. The food on the other hand, if you don't like greasy food it might be a problem. Considering that most dishes have pork belly. The sising I tried was very heavy and my companion's Kare kare was the same. But the BBQ sticks were delicious. I think it's a restaurant you should try for yourself.
Sari-Sari Filipino Restaurant, Market, Bakery is a culinary haven where the vibrant flavors of the Philippines come to life. Nestled in the heart of the city, this charming establishment offers an immersive dining experience that delights the senses at every turn. From the moment you step inside, you're greeted with the tantalizing aroma of freshly baked pandesal and the warm smiles of the friendly staff. My personal favorite, the chicken adobo, is a true standout on the menu. Tender pieces of chicken are marinated in a delectable blend of soy sauce, vinegar, garlic, and spices, resulting in a dish that is both comforting and incredibly flavorful. Each bite is a symphony of savory goodness that leaves you craving more. But the delights of Sari-Sari extend far beyond just one dish. With a diverse menu featuring everything from crispy pork belly to rich kare-kare, there's something to satisfy every craving. And let's not forget about the market and bakery, where you can stock up on authentic Filipino ingredients and freshly baked treats to enjoy at home. Whether you're a seasoned foodie or simply looking for a memorable dining experience, Sari-Sari is sure to leave a lasting impression.
After walking in with my family, not being greeted at all, we decided to leave. Customer service is very important to me.
My husband and I went to the new location in Westover Hills and loved it, but that shut down so we decided to try this original location and market. The hostess seemed irritated that we showed up, and then we were effectively ignored by our waitress the entire time. When we asked for to-go boxes and she just threw them on the table and walked away. It was hard to get ahold of anyone when we needed extra napkins/water/etc. The dishes we got were a bit too fatty and heavy for my personal taste, but the main issue was the rude attitude from the hostess and our server. It was pretty weird because the service at the other location was good. There seemed to be one waiter that was actually attentive to the tables he had, but unfortunately our waitress seemed to be occupied with other things during the entirety of our meal. I’m not sure why our service was so poor. Our experience seems to be non-standard considering other positive reviews. The market is nice, though.Dietary restrictions: Gluten free options
