Water Street Cafe - Stonington

Tiny shriveled up portion of calamari loll, mediocre drinks and service. Just got to Stonington or Mystic!!

Great service in a casual fine dining atmosphere. Good flavors and fresh ingredients seasoned and cooked perfectly BUT my date and I actually felt ill after this meal because it was too rich. We shared one potato leek soup, one mussel appetizer and one duck and scallop entree. I understand it’s French cuisine and I enjoy rich foods but the amount of cream and butter was overly indulgent in each dish. Was very promising and we wish it had turned out better…

Wow. What a great restaurant. Fabulous food, wonderful service, lovely atmosphere, and live music to boot; a guitar player who set the mood perfectly. Four of us had great meals, including two of us who are Vegans, and the vegan entrée was absolutely delicious. We will definitely eat here again when we are in town. Highly recommended. Vegetarian options: Great vegan entree.
