A wide selection of candies, as well as their home made ice cream. There are are other non sweet selections, from toys. Gifts, jams, and food for those without a sweet tooth. I ordered a chocolate banana milkshake, which was delicious. My wife ordered a sundae with vinella ice cream; also delicious. Definitely worth a stop!
This was a bittersweet experience for our family. We came specifically to Strasburg, PA following the Arlington burial because we had heard so often about his wanting to take a road trip on a whim from North Carolina to get ice cream in downtown Strasburg. We had to come find this place that we are sure is the one he came to often through the years. When we walked up to the counter and the young man working behind it asked if we'd been there before, I told him we had not I continued that there was a story behind this and my husband would have to tell it, because I would not be able to without crying. After tasting the delicious ice cream, we enjoyed perusing the store and then visiting an antique shop down the street. Hopefully we will get to come back another time when we are less emotionally drained and have a little more time.
Adorable shoppe and store in a quaint area. The only reason for 4 stars is there was no vanilla ice cream, so not everyone in our party could get something. Oh, and the grille was closed, but that was due to staff call outs on a holiday weekend (according to signage). Excellent prices for the portions, and no extra for the waffle cone! There is a $0.50 upcharge for waffle bowls though, which is, again, very reasonable! Overall great experience and we will be back!
Nice old fashioned ice cream place. The ice cream is in fact excellent. I had a peanut butter cone and it was legit. They have food too. The store environment is very kid friendly. There's seating within and immediately outside. Nice to walk around in the nice weather with a cone. The surrounding area has opportunities for antiquing and looking at historic houses.
I always look for opportunities to support small local businesses wherever I travel and this charming stop in Strasburg PA was well worth it. Locally made ice cream in a variety of flavors including several vegan options. Delightful local crafts, souvenirs and honey, old fashioned candies and nostalgic toys available to shop while you wait.
