The Ticklish Turtle Cafe - Stratford

We had Devonshire tea with scones. The positive was that they served tea leaf tea in a large teapot with a cup and saucer with large scones and blueberry jam. The cafe has a cozy atmosphere but too expensive for tea and scones.

Arrived with a family of 9 people for lunch. Initially was very quaint anf friendly service. Was a little put off when I asked if the burger came with chips. The hostess abbruptively replied "I dont do chips, go to McDonald's if you want that". I would have been content with a simple no, we dont do them sorry. Or they could have had either pallenta or sweet potato chips instead. Everyone was pretty happy when their orders arrived, except me when it came out without bacon and egg on it, which I asked for. I raised it but was told that I didnt ask and she just walked away. Thd burger was tasteless and i didnt finish it. Then I ordered a caramel milk shake which arrived but was vanilla, when i raised the issue the waiter said that he saw caramel get put in it. I tasted a few more times and was definitely vanilla. Then a family member ordered tea which arrived with dirty cups. Then another meal with fatty horrible ham which they replaced with equally poor ham. Overall a disappointing lunch. Wont go back again.

Great spot to stop on a road trip. The coffee and home made slice were excellent. There is also a collection of 2nd hand books for sale : all proceeds to the Peter MacCallum Cancer Institute.

I could go on and on all day about this place! The food the service the prices! Seriously check them out!
