The waiter said they had tomato soup, but what we received was nothing like tomato soup. He insisted it was, but it was thick and more like polenta. Another guest ordered French Onion soup, which was cold and lacked cheese. When we questioned the waiter, he claimed it was still French onion, just without the cheese. In the end, the waiter removed the two "tomato" soups from our bill and revealed that it was actually carrot and parsnip soup. Overall, it was a terrible experience and I have no desire to return.
We were unable to dine at this restaurant as it was closed on Wednesday. Despite our reservation being accepted, they were not open for dinner. We had to hurry to find another restaurant before the 8pm show.
I made reservations online for Tuesday, October 16th for 4 people at Bards. We received confirmation but upon arrival, we discovered that they were closed. The Hub, located upstairs and next door to Bards, informed us that they had changed back to their Fall/Winter hours. We ended up dining at The Hub, which was a pleasant experience. It would have been better if Bards had informed us of the closure. We initially chose Bards because they had a full back page advertisement in the Stratford Festival brochure.
