Rene's Bistro - Stratford

The service at this restaurant was exceptional, especially considering that they were completely booked.

The restaurant is so highly acclaimed by reviews that I was terribly disappointed in my birthday dinner here. The dishes we ordered were all heavy with sauces. I could barely taste the tenderloin or vegetables because the gravy was so thick and salty. My husband's special pasta of the day was described as having a tomato sauce but it was a flavorless pasta dish in a salty broth that might have involved a tomato. Very pricey. We won't return.

Having arrived from the UK for the Stratford theatre season, a recommendation for an evening meal was Rene's Bistro. It was an excellent choice both from the food (fish) and also the wine. Very pleasant surroundings and great service. Thoroughly enjoyed my visit as did the friends I went with.
