Friendly staff and the Sunday roast beef dinner was beautiful, lots of beef and cooked perfectly
I did notice that the back area had a slight lingering odor of old cigarette smoke, but it wasn't overwhelming. They offer a nice selection of beers and other standard beverages. I have to say, the food was excellent. I ordered homemade steak cakes served with vegetables, chips, and gravy. My stepdaughter had chicken and leek cakes with a side of salad, and my wife opted for a basket of chips paired with a chicken burger. We also shared a piece of garlic bread. The food was served piping hot, and both the steak cakes and the chicken cakes were generous and flavorful. I do have to knock off one star for a couple of reasons: firstly, the smell in the back area (it could definitely benefit from some fresh air), and secondly, my wife's chicken burger was made with a thin fillet that was overcooked and dry, and the bun was microwaved, which caused it to harden after a while. Additionally, our dog’s meal was a bit underwhelming. There's certainly room for improvement, and addressing these issues could earn them an extra star. Nevertheless, I would definitely return and recommend this place; the staff was really friendly and attentive too.
Great pub with friendly people! I would definitely recommend it if you're in the area.
What a warm welcome! The Sunday dinner was an excellent value for money, and I was thrilled to find gluten-free Yorkshire puddings available, so as a celiac, I didn't have to miss out.
