Caffe Verbanella - STRESA

We visited this cafe/restaurant several times during our stay in Stresa. From simple coffee/ice cream, to snack type food, we found the food to be excellent with fast friendly service. Great views over lake, with lake view tables nearly always available. (Very dog friendly)

This a pleasant place to spend an hour or so enjoying a coffee and looking out over the lake, but nothing ecceptional

We stayed in Stresa for ten days and visited this bar at least five times. It has a really good outside space with plenty of tables and fabulous views of the lake. Charming staff look after you very well and you soon feel at home here. The food is simple and delicious. They make excellent toasted sandwiches as well as good pasta dishes. The really big surprise for us was discovering that they have live music. We were lucky enough to sea a really good band from the University of New Hampshire. On a second visit the performers were a Czech swing band who were really excellent. The three female singers had loads of talent and packed the place out. This place is also called Willy's Bar and has both indoor and outside eating. It is great value both for food and drinks. We loved it and its staff.

We enjoyed our drinks on the terrace whicle waiting for the shuttle to take us back to our hotel. Not expensive, quiet, nice park.

Lovely location and good service, and a beautiful marble interior. Looks like it's just a bar but we have had great pasta for lunch here too. Jazz and lots of pictures by the animal artist david shepherd make this a cut above the rest.
