Without the broth, no matter how grand the ingredient is, it will be soulless. I’ve basically try all types and every style of hotpot and in my 40 years of life from clear chicken, pork, thick beef bone, seafood to spicy Szechuan or tom yum, kimchi, miso, veggie tomatoes wild mushroom even congee base. This restaurant serve homemade broth of seawater fish like Garuppa and snappers and most importantly, no msg. Now this can be proven when after we finished our dinner, we don’t feel thirsty at all. Usually majority of other hotpot broth will chuck in loads of msg to lower the costing to making but certainly not this one. We had table for 3 and they have package for 2 person and 3 4 person. Since this is our first time to try out, we ordered the package of 2 and to our dismay, it is loaded with all the fresh food which is enough even for 3 people to dine. Deep fried fish was put in the broth to sparks up the soup and lastly sprinkle in the homemade unlimited garlic oil.... my goodness still drooling when thinking about it !! Cute thing is, they have this small grilling on top of the hotpot where you can try grilling the prawns or even the bacon ! They have this self service of extra food of varieties of raw meat, seafood and greens which you can grab in their fridge too. On top of all, they using traditional charcoal style instead of gas which is very very rarely seen nowadays. Besides hotpot they even serve light bites where we ordered a belachan chicken and it put a smile on my missus face. Great flavor and crispy hot. There are also selections of claypot noodles which looks really yummy but with after the hotpot, we basically need to drag our ass to the car... freaking full and satisfied and missus can’t stop talking bout it the whole time when we drove home. Place is clean not too noisy and service is very friendly. It’s not really crowded might be due to weekdays. Every other hotpot place I go, it’s mostly buffet style waste all you can or else pretending high classy hotpot with server deboned and take off prawn shell for you, but not here.... With all the tiny details from the broth to the flavor you can really see how many efforts and hard work they putting in to make the ordinary hotpot extraordinary. Price is fairly reasonable too ! This is really a great place for people who really know how to appreciate good food. Recommend to go during weekdays as it wouldn’t be crowded and can really enjoy the food peacefully. Will defo visit again !!
