OpenTable was still accepting reservations for this business, leaving us scrambling at the last minute to find another location to celebrate. Please remove this restaurant from your site.
I was very disappointed with our experience at 29 Sudbury. My husband and I were looking for a local spot for a date night, but when we arrived we were seated right next to a loud event area with the door open. Our server was okay, but the food seemed overpriced for what we received. The antipasto for the table didn't taste fresh and the flavors didn't complement each other. The high prices might have been justified if the restaurant had a great view or was in a more interesting location, but overall I don't think this is a restaurant worth going back to.
The apps were good but the mains focused on quantity not quality. Not the best option for Italian fine dining around here. The sports noise/cheering spill over from the adjacent bar made it hard to have a conversation or even communicate ones order to the long suffering server.
Excellent food. Wonderful server named Christina. Definitely go back.
We had a special occasion to celebrate that I mentioned on my reservation. They were out of Champagne. We were seat in the bar section upstairs even though there were plenty of tables downstairs. TV was on and people were cheering which would have been fine if we were there for pizza or burgers and beer. Pasta was fresh. Dessert was a disappointment. Out of the sauces for the cheesecake. Cheesecake and lava cake turned out to be the round, prefrozen food service variety and not homemade. Wine list is light, but they seem to do a good beer and cocktail trade. I would go back for a casual meal but not date night or a $200 celebration.
