The guy running the pizza place was not interested and then shouted out to one of his 'friends ' in the beer garden 'was your pizza soggy ' to which the person replied ' no he must have pissed himself '. We went into the pub explained what had happened and they said they would have a word..we left our pints as the environment was in our view toxic no refund was offered. The conclusion we have reached is that both businesses are only interested in money and due to the high turnover of customers in the summer season care little or nothing about there clients. We live on the high street and will be unable to recommend to any friends or guests
I recently had both the best and worst pint of Ghostship at this restaurant. The reason for this review is due to the rude treatment I received from a specific member of the bar staff when I returned my cloudy pint. After exchanging it for another pint, which was also unclear, the staff member gave me a dirty look and aggressively poured me a pint of Broadside. It was very frustrating. Pubs like this one are great and the quality of the ale should be respected and served with pride. It seemed like the bar staff didn't know how to properly pour a pint and their lack of care and professionalism was disappointing. Despite this, people will continue to drink here, but it is important to maintain high standards and not become complacent.
I had a fantastic experience at the cozy pizza restaurant! They offered a variety of pizzas, such as Regina, Quattro Formaggi, and Napoletana. The chef was welcoming, and the pizzas were served promptly, piping hot and absolutely delicious. The prices were reasonable too. The ambiance of the pub was lovely and inviting. In a nice gesture, they permit patrons to enjoy their food in the beer garden from the nearby fish and chip shop as long as they purchase a drink from the pub. Additionally, they were dog-friendly.
Charmingly rooted in the 1950s, this is a pub that time almost forgot, but that's the point! A warm cheery welcome awaits all visitors regulars alike. Good selection of well-kept beers pizzas outback on some evenings. Relaxed approach to letting punters bring supper from the next-door chippy as long as they purchase a drink shows why this is such a great place. Definitely somewhere to stop when you're in town. Ideal creche for non-shoppers!
This is a fantastic English pub with a great selection of beer and a wonderful atmosphere. It embodies everything a pub should be - welcoming and filled with friendly people and delicious ales.
