Black Bear Diner - Sugar Land

It wasn't exactly to my liking. The grits weren't as flavorful as I had hoped, the gravy was quite bland, and the scrambled eggs were overcooked. The kids' pancakes were overly sweet. However, the chicken strips for the kids were excellent, and the chicken and waffles had great flavor. Despite the restaurant being extremely busy, the service was very good. There was a nice atmosphere throughout the place.

I was visiting from Florida and was in search of a delicious diner breakfast. I struck gold! I ordered the Bear's Choice, which came with a waffle, eggs, and their homemade sausage patty. The coffee was exceptional; the beans are freshly ground and brewed right on the spot. Both the food and service were fantastic. This place is definitely a must-visit!

We frequently visit the Black Bear in Sugar Land because we truly enjoy the food and the ambiance. One of the primary reasons we love it so much is our waiter, Israel. He always welcomes us with a big smile and provides exceptional service. He even takes the time to chat with us for a while. He's a fantastic person. I would give him a six-star review!

Yisrael has been my server twice on two separate occasions, and has been so attentive and kind and polite each and every time. Even asking about my day and friendly chatter in between serving other tables. I have also noticed other servers who seem very happy there and appear to love their job and being in that atmosphere. It is contagious all around and I’ve never had a bad experience and this speaks volumes about your restaurant and we never mind waiting an extra 15 or even 20 minutes to be seated because we know the service will be top-notch and the food is delicious. We will always return to Black Bear Diner!

1st and last time customer. Excited to try it out and I was truly disappointed. I wish I had a positive to start off this review. The service was poor and the food was terrible. Chicken looks like it came out of a Tyson bag. Our server was not excited to be at work as he barely said 5 words as he took our order. The atmosphere looked as if people were once there, but all rushed out at the same time leaving their food on the table. The place is filthy and if I were the manager I would think about Re training every employee in the building including the cook. We give this place 1.5/10 stars and thankfully the mags we comped all three meals bc it was THAT bad. Please save your time and money.
