Cozy Bay Seafood Cafe - Summerland

We really enjoyed the fried clams and halibut and chips. The service was very friendly and the food certainly did not disappoint.

I was very excited to try this restaurant as I have heard many rave reviews. It wasn't great, it wasn't terrible. Just meh. The fish had a bit too much batter and not enough fish for my liking and the batter looked great but didn't have much of any flavour. The service was very good. I may try it again but I won't go out of my way to do so. It's ok.

We used to live in Summerland. We went to Cozy Bay a few times but we failed to be impressed. The chips were all right but there was way too much batter and scant little fish. We pulled the batter away from the fish to reveal almost nothing. In the end we were left with mounds of batter on our plates. I would not recommend it as the best fish and chips. We now live near Montreal and went to a place called Brit and Fish which was absolutely excellent. Loads of fish, batter was thin and crispy, service was fast. The place was packed, Good ambiance. That one I would highly recommend.

We had read great reviews of this place, so called on a Monday (when they are closed) and left a message on the answering machine that we would like a reservation the following evening at 5:30 (you were told if you did not hear back, that the reservation would stand). Well...on Tuesday, late afternoon (when the web site indicated they WERE open!), we received a call that they were not open on Tuesdays until July ? and it was then too late for us to get a reservation at another restaurant. Very irritating!!

We decided to go out for fish and chips. The restaurant has food for staying in and taking out. The portions are varied and allow you to enjoy and not overeat; depending on your hunger meter. The best part was the taste of the fish and the tartar sauce, the second best was being able to decided how many fries and how much coleslaw to have. It wasn't one size fits all. This we appreciated and look forward to enjoying the next time we go for dinner. The food is filling, yet not heavy in the stomach. Great coleslaw...we are a bit picky as dressing heavy coleslaw is not a favourite.Thank you for the wonderful friendly service and the timing for waiting for your meal allows for a little conversation prior, during, and after.We definitely recommend this treasure for you to enjoy.
