Decided to give them a second chance. The pancit was average and lacked any sort of sauce. The Kung Pao Chicken was horrendous. The sauce looked like it had congealed after five minutes and had a terrible flavor. The fried rice was edible.
I was denied service because I reflected the same attitude they projected! From my experience with neighboring businesses, I already know how unsanitary they are and how questionable their food can be. I simply went in for some white rice and felt like I had to repeat myself multiple times, as if they didn’t understand English. They claimed they couldn’t accept card payments for purchases under $5, which I find ridiculous since I've had no problem paying by card at other local Chinese restaurants for the same amount. I rarely visit this establishment anymore because I had a bad experience with their food years ago, and now they're refusing service to certain customers? I will never return! I can find much better service just down the street.
I posted a picture above. I had just one tiny bite of chicken in the curry chicken dish. When I asked for a refund on that combo, the staff told me that the curry chicken is only supposed to have one bite of chicken. I'm not exaggerating—it was literally just one bite! She said I'd have to pay extra for more chicken. This place is a scam! Plus, the egg rolls were mostly empty!
The broth of the wonton soup had a unique taste that I had never experienced before—almost smoky. Unfortunately, the pork in the wonton tasted like leftovers, making the soup quite inedible. On a positive note, my beef with broccoli was delicious. However, the fried rice tasted and smelled old, making a portion of my meal unappetizing. I couldn't eat any of the rice, which is usually essential to completing a meal. My wife's chicken and vegetables were very good, but they too suffered from that unpleasant old taste and smell from the rice, which was disappointing. The egg roll was nice, but it lacked filling. I'm not sure if this was just a bad day for the restaurant, but I’m willing to give it another try—especially since their brown sauce is the best I've had since moving here from Queens, NY, 10 years ago.
