Palmetto Flats Tavern - Summerville

I recently dined at the Oktoberfest meal, and unfortunately, it did not meet my expectations. For the first time in a while, I felt disappointed with my meal. While I understand the challenges that come with service, it appeared that there were plenty of staff members, yet we still had to wait quite a while for our food and drinks. I suspect the other items on the menu are what the restaurant is known for, rather than this particular meal.

This was our first visit, and we had a great experience. The atmosphere is lovely and relaxed, with ample seating both indoors and outdoors. There’s a roomy bar area as well as a small stage for live music. We sampled one of the flatbreads; I opted for the Mediterranean appetizer, which was definitely substantial enough to be a meal, while my wife chose the daily special. Both dishes were excellent. The only downside was the wait time for our food after ordering—it took longer than expected, even though the restaurant wasn’t very busy.

I didn't take any pictures this time because we were too eager to dig in, but the food was definitely photo-worthy and tasted just as delicious as it looked. There was live music featuring a great band, and the staff was both friendly and attentive. With so many options on the menu, I'm already looking forward to returning to try everything! If you're in search of really good food in a non-chain restaurant, this place is perfect for you! It might be easy to overlook from the outside, but believe me, you don't want to miss it! Make sure to save some space for dessert, as they are just as impressive as the main dishes!

The chicken Pesto Flatbread was very good. The staff of the bar were friendly and attentive.

Tiffany was our server and she is very knowledgeable about the cuisine and the restaurant history. She navigated is through the menu and our dishes were delicious! I will be back.
