Oya Japanese Sun Peaks

Super rude owner. our tellers were taken before we were finished eating without asking and the bill fell like “drawing off”. grabbed the chair from us before we had to put another table. No, thanks, nothing.

This is an authentic Japanese restaurant which is a short walk into the village from the base of the main ski lifts. The owner is friendly and the service is quick.. so you can get back to skiing! All the food was well presented and the food of high quality and fresh.. about $200 for 4, no alcohol.

We just visited this restaurant 3 days ago. It’s quite pricey and waiting time too long. We told them that we couldn’t eat yams, but they still gave us yams in our dish. We didn’t wait for another order, so we just took all the yams out of our order.We won’t come back again!!

Walked in and it was swamped with takeout orders. Sat down at the bar and the owner asked what I wanted in a reasonable time. Then I sat for 45 minutes before my dinner arrived without even being offered a glass of water. Was about 5 minutes from walking out. I was totally ignored while the takeout orders were being picked up like from an assembly line. There were two making sushi and one cooking. I asked for a spicy soup-noodle with seafood as published on the menu but it was flat and decided not to protest. Paid the exact amount in cash with no tip.

Place was great. Had a group of 8. Service was 10/10. Sushi was fresh. Great experience. Not sure why everyone is giving low reviews. This place was really good
