However one of my company used the disabled toilet. The toilet was then locked. I asked why this was so as it is a facility for the use of customers with priority given to the disabled, but not to the exclusion of others. There were no visibly disabled customers. I was told by the manageress (who stated she was the owner) that they were for disabled customers only. This is surely discrimination. I understand that priority is for the disabled (but disability is not often visible and indeed another of our company is registered disabled). After all disabled customers are not excluded from able bodied facilities. I was verbally abused with a torrent of bad language aimed at me from this lady who then ordered me to leave the premises. I will return if only to discuss the matter further with a less anebriated manageress.
This bar is in the fashionable Sunniside area in Sunderland. There's not many bars close by, so the people that frequent this place tend to stay for a couple of drinks. The upstairs is a little spit and sawdust and frequented by a younger, albeit well behaved crowd. Downstairs is where we would choose to go. There's a smallish bar area at the front with a cosy cushioned area to the back. A good selection of beers are available and plenty for the girls, too. It can be a bit raucous after a Sunderland home game but the people who've generally drank too much due to the result don't tend to hang around too long. Sunderland isn't the place it used to be when it beat fashionable Newcastle in the nightlife stakes, but with bars like Justice, it has a few of these hidden gems up it's sleeve.
For a friends brithday they arranged a cocktail master class at Bar Justice. It was brilliant. Definetly worth the money, we all got a glass of prosseco on arrival and two cocktails that we made our selves. The bar staff were brilliant, couldn't do enough for us. Well worth booking if you're looking for something a bit different to do.
Called in for pre-meal drinks, nice decor and friendly staff however the Guinness I was served was off I returned it for a bottle of peroni which was drinkable maybe they should start stocking polish lager-far superior in my opinion. Will return again.
Popped in here after an unfortunate consumption of poor cocktails in Sam's Bar's. The smell or vomit and urine pervaded the generally cheery atmosphere....had a swift diet coke and escaped.....
