Santini's - Sunderland

We visited the restaurant last Saturday and were disappointed that it was crowded and our order took a long time. However, when the food finally arrived, it was delicious.

My sister and I ate at Santini's on 22nd and 24th November and on both occasions the staff were very friendly, welcoming and professional a credit to the organisation. We both had Chicken Stroganoff on the first visit and a Chicken Breast dish on the second. All meals portions were very generous, so much so that we were too full to order desserts but enjoyed nice coffees after our main courses. The food arrived hot and tastefully arranged. We used to visit this restaurant when visiting Seaburn and Whitburn before the first Covid lockdowns. The restaurant has been refurbished and looks very smart. We were pleased the quality of the food lived up to our expectations based on our previous experiences. It is in an ideal location overlooking the sea.

Ordered an Uber eats pizza selection tonight whilst staying at a hotel. Wish we hadn’t… we asked for the pizzas to be delivered between 1800-1830 hrs… we gave more than 2 hrs notice of order… we were due to go out at 8pm received notification at 1750 hrs it was being made and would be here by 18.20. That time came and went…i rang at 18.45 to be told by the manager they were busy with customers in the restaurant. Funny, but I thought I paid the same price. At 7.15pm I rang again to be told they had left. At 7.25 they rang to say they were leaving now… at 7.30 I was asked where I was as they were there… they had gone to the place next door! Eventually got our food at 19.37pm. It was Luke warm, chips cold and imo that food lacked seasoning and taste. …. To make matters worse I gave a pre tip for the pleasure of it all! Most of it went in the bin.

We had a lovely lunch here. The food was excellent, generous portions, and great service. Love the new decor too.

Beautiful place and food was fantastic 2 courses for £9.99, cant fault it, it was gorgeous. Helped by the 2 lovely young waitresses, who were very chatty and checked we had a lovely time. I have to say they were amazing and made a dinner much more enjoyable, sorry I didn't get their names but they were the only 2 in this afternoon. Well done on a great choice of staff. We will be back it was that good the girls made a full rainbow apper for us thanks ladies x
