I just got the takeover from here, so I can't testify to the service. The food is however phenomenal. I have Pho, Bowls, Pommes, Thai Iced Tea and they are all spectacular. The portions are large and everything is always delicious. This was my place for the last year and although the prices are a bit high, I eat here 1-2 times a week and the food is always consistent.
Order via Eigelb Essen arrived in time, was still hot and quite delicious! Thank you for offering a good product. We enjoyed our meal of chicken breast, Thai rice and mixed vegetables.
Everything's fine here. I've been here several times (it now has a new name). The staff made mistakes when ordering. I love the pineapple curry, but it comes out very unconsistently, which is very annoying. I had it three times, and each time the portions and the color were different.
When I first heard about the new Asian fusion restaurant in Sunnyside, I asked why? Sunnyside is flooded with Asian restaurants, Dee Thai, Yum Yum, Oki Japanese, Ariyoshi, and also to mention the plethora of Chinese restaurants on every street corner. Little did I know, Blu Orchid is not competing with the Asian restaurants in the neighborhood because it's in a category of its own. Upon entry, I was showered with attention from the server (or owner, who mentioned his aunt was the cook) as the first customer of the night. The decor of the interior area was classy, dark and romantic. I was instantly provided with a complimentary appetizer, shrimp crackers with cayenne pepper (an unique and invigorating combo) and at the end of the meal, coconut cream soup with mini tapioca dessert. I ordered shrimp udon for the main dish thinking it came with broth, but it came out stir fry style. Nevertheless the plate was empty in two minutes. I most likely will be coming back to spend more and try the other items on the menu.
