The place was quite calm, and I was seated promptly after placing my order. My food arrived quickly, and it was fresh and delicious. The biryani was aromatic with plenty of flavors and was just the right level of spice since I opted for mild. However, there wasn't a lot of raita to accompany the biryani. The garlic naan was outstanding—crispy and large enough that I had to take half of it home. Lastly, the complimentary chai added a sweet touch to round off the meal nicely. I also ordered Gobi Manchurian to-go, which was fantastic. I will definitely be returning!
I visited the restaurant for lunch on a Thursday and ordered the Golconda Chicken Biryani and Guntur Special Chicken Biryani. Unfortunately, both dishes were overly oily; the oil seemed to slide right off the biryani. The rice was completely saturated with oil, making it feel more like eating oil than biryani. To make matters worse, it was 100°F outside, and the restaurant had not turned on the air conditioning. They only had one fan, which was being used for other tables, leaving us to sweat profusely. It was actually more comfortable outside than in. Overall, it was a disappointing experience. It seems like the restaurant is more focused on short-term gains. I had visited this place before the pandemic and had a wonderful experience, but this time was a letdown.
The goat biryani didn't meet our expectations; it seemed more like fried goat served on top of cooked basmati rice rather than a true biryani. On a positive note, the chicken biryani was good. The Andhra curry had a nice flavor, although it had a slight smell of undercooked chicken. The punugulu and naans were excellent, and we all enjoyed their tea. The methi curry was also quite pleasing. One downside was that both the goat and chicken curries had more heavy sauces than actual meat pieces. We had four dessert options: double ka metha, coconut barfi, gulabi jamun, and kesar. We missed the mango lassi immensely, as it was not available. On a brighter note, the pulihora was also delicious.
I ordered gongura wiper biryani, 7 slice cubes, it was sour, no spices added in it. Lot of white rice. It was a waste of money. It tasted like Gongura and wiper in a rice. $17.99 for biryani $1.7 Revenue Tax and 15% Tip, total $21 only for pure rice and some slice cubes???
Tasty goat biryani. Gongura flavor was very new to me, and I enjoyed it very much. Also, extra spicy is really spicy!!
