Feedback gevenDelicious food and excellent service from a female staff "Roggie". Very accommodating and hospitable. Place with lots of different and great Filipino dishes. Combo food (BBQ pork and rice with drinks) is a good choice but it could had been better if the meat has been cook on a charcoal. Dessert choices are also very good specially halo-halo, sticky rice cake and custard. Happy to travel from Templestowe to Cairnlea for lunch. Food smells really good and happy to eat them...yummy!!!.
We really loved the food! Very carinderia style! I was with my husband and we ordered a combo meal each (it has rice and two dishes or "ulam" as we call it) and shared for us to have a taste. We had the sisig, pakbet, lechon paksiw and beef pares. The lady who served us was very nice. Not much customer interaction as you order at the counter and they will serve you the food. Very much like the side street restaurants in the Philippines! 10 out of 10 will come back again! The pakbet was the best!
Starting from tonight this restaurant has a BBQ Night starting from 6pm on Tuesday's which includes live music.Meal choices are starting at $12 which includes the BBQ choice, Rice, Salad and Anchara (Paw Paw Pickles) and a soft drink. Excellent value.I had the Chicken Skewers and my wife had theTalapia Fish. Both meals were lovely except the fish was slightly burnt and stuck to the alfoil.Unfortunately we and many others around us found the live music far too loud for such a small venue. I wasnt a fan of the style of music played. I think some more easy listening music, modern music and perhaps some Filipino music would have been more appropriate. Hopefully management consider some better music choices next time.Im sure we will pop back on another Tuesday night as its only 5 minutes from home.
Plenty of pinoy food to choose from. Food is good and place a very homey feel. The cashier and everyone working are nice and speaks tagalog. Very hospitable. If you are looking for a filipino gourmet this is not the place. But if you wanted to eat pinoy food at a decent price - try this place! :)
I recently traveled here in Melbourne for tour and to visit my future sis-in-law so she brought me here to satisfy our craving for Pinoy food--good choice! The food is like your typical carinderia/canteen variety--lots of choices to choose from(too bad Binagoongan was not on the list that time). You can have combo(combination choice if dishes typical in Philippine canteens) meals plus the drink--roughly equal to regular meals in the other small restaurants near CBD. They also have a small grocery with of course, Pinoy products! The best part of going to this not-so-near and definitely off the central area place is that it's Pinoy food with the typical excellent Pinoy hospitality! Thanks for the warm assistance in taking our photos(don't know her name--cashier/waitress). Cliche as it may sound, good service is the key for business in food and hospitality!
