Beauchaines 211 - Surf City

I visited this restaurant after my engagement last weekend, having heard wonderful things about it. However, I must say, I found it to be overrated. The service was excellent, which I appreciate, but the food was only average at best. I ordered my steak medium rare and received it rare instead. While that’s not a dealbreaker, even if it had been cooked correctly, I wouldn't classify it as a GREAT steak. It was tender, but it seemed to lack flavor, and the blue cheese on top seemed to be an attempt to compensate for that. My fiancé ordered the famous flounder and encountered a solid bone that nearly caused her to choke. Overall, I don't dislike the place, but it certainly won't be our go-to spot in Surf City, especially since we live in North Topsail.

Delicious food and excellent service, but the noise level is fairly high in such a compact dining space.

Amazing service and delicious food! The staff was friendly and attentive, even with Tropical Storm Idalia on the way. The food was fantastic, with generous portion sizes and outstanding flavors and quality!

Busy. Saturday night suggest do reservations. Fried green tomatoes salad best on island. Flounder crab delicious. Weird that they serve local beer in Ballast Point glasses. I'm cool with that since live in San Diego. Update oct 2023. Family went (8) had reservations. Excellent meals. Good service. The bison meatballs and torillini excellent. A little pricey but we all recommend.
