The Crab Pot - Surf City

This restaurant used to be a great spot for family outings, offering good seafood at reasonable prices. Unfortunately, the atmosphere has now become quite dreary. While our waitress was friendly and our orders were correctly filled, the service left something to be desired; she was not very attentive when it came to drinks or the bill. The food itself resembled more of an elevated bar menu than quality seafood. Interestingly, they charge extra for blackened dishes—apparently, spices are hard to come by in North Carolina? Additionally, I would advise against ordering the shrimp burger; it's not an actual burger or even a shrimp patty, but rather whole shrimp thrown onto a hamburger bun. Overall, I would suggest trying other places for seafood instead.

My wife and I went in twice on our vacation. We loved both the food and mixed drinks. The atmosphere was relaxing and service the service was really good. We will come back again!

100% don’t listen to negative reviews!!!!!!! We came in (party of 3) 6:45pm -thurs. Seated right away. Nice breeze. Drinks on point. Our waitress was also the bartender. Kudos to her!!! Wait for food wasn’t bad at all. But we also went KNOWING it may be a bit before we get food so don’t be in a hurry!!! But the food was 100% worth it. We had crab balls for appetizers- so good!!!We had a make your own steamer pot for dinner for two of us. Did two clusters of Dungeness crab, pound of mussels, 2 pounds shrimp and two orders of the corn/potatoes/sausage. AMAZING. Best damn mussels we have ever had!!!! Everything is seasoned fantastically and food, service, drinks was legit ?. Don’t sleep on this place!!! Well worth it!

Great delicious affordable food awesome atmosphere ?????️. I’m thinking of moving to the area in a few years and I’ll definitely be going here a lot ? there’s a great seafood market in the same area that you can get some good quality grub from! There’s also a beautiful park to relax and walk around after you’re done eating or while you wait. They also have a lot of unique interesting choices on their menu and their drinks are really good.?

This was probably the worst experience I’ve had at a seafood restaurant at the beach. The food took over an hour which would have been fine if it had been good food. All of the corn and potatoes were very cold. The waitress took them back to put back in the steamer but they were still not hot when brought back. Other than being cold, the food was mediocre. It was overpriced for small portions of mediocre food. The waitress was nice and did take the corn and potatoes off the tab but it was still $150 for a pretty disappointing meal.
