When passing through the area on the way to the border we have done the usual and checked on Tripadvisor for breakfast places and I guess this time we were left down from the reviews and frankly, we just don't get it. Staff must be locals and friends of the institution? I really don't like to judge people, but as one of the other critics mentioned, the older Lord certainly lacks social graces, and his attire made him look very wrong and not someone who should serve? He sat at a table eating a sandwich and reading newspapers when we got in, so we assumed he was a guest. I asked him who we could order from, and he said I was. I wish we had just stood up and slipped out, as it was an indication of what our overall experience would be. The tablecloths are plastic linings, the decor is ashamed, the cups were stained and when breakfast came, it was served on a chipped thick plastic sheet! Okay... maybe that stimulates some people, as it was clear that the people who came seemed to know the owner, but for those of us who are from the villagers, this experience came as a very negative experience. Food quality.... not good, even if you could consider this as cheap food.
We decided to try Elena’s Country Kitchen. The prices are extremely good and much cheaper then the average breakfast spot. If that is your criteria it’s the place for you. Two can have breakfast and coffee for under $20.00.
Went for breakfast in this diner along the Main Street of Cloverdale. The server, an older gentleman greatly lacked any social graces. So unfriendly. The place is quite dated and is in need of updating ! Breakfast was ok, eggs were good. I don’t think...I would go back for breakfast but would like to try their cabbage rolls and perogies another time.
If your looking for old fashioned homestyle cooking, then this is the place. We go for breakfast here almost every weekend since discovering it a few months ago. Small, quaint, good food, home feel. Owned an operated by a very nice family. Great sausage, free...run eggs, delicious perogies.. Check it out
