Good vietnamese food in Surry hills not the most traditional style ie no basil mint is served with pho, no vietnamese style typical sauces and dishes are slightly modernised however food is tasty. Ordered pho, fresh Vietnamese rolls, prawn sugarcane dish and crispy chicken; overall serving size was generous with good taste. Great little family owned and operated Restaurant. I have been frequenting for past 27years moving from original tiny cosy site in Bourke St, Darlinghurst to larger premises Flinders St Darlinghurst, and has stood the test of time, in a fickle Sydney foodie scene. Delivering consistently authentic tasty dishes, well priced too, some would argue cheap comparatively to other competition. Taking away, ordinary decor and poor acoustic installation and air conditioning, and uncomfortable chairs, which I wish they fix. This aside, it's all about the food. So if you love your Vietnamese you will be sure to check out "Chu Bay" a 80's, 90's, 2015-16, classic still going strong.
