Þrastalundur - Sveitarfelagid Arborg

This was an unplanned stop for me…I was driving back to Reykjavík and initially wanted a place where I could take in the beautiful views, so I decided to stop for lunch. I was early, but they were very friendly and put some chairs down near the window so I could warm up with good coffee and refresh with water. I ended up ordering the daily special (monkfish), and it was amazing! This place was a welcome surprise addition to my trip! Definitely make a stop if you’re in the area.

This cozy restaurant has left the best impressions! Hospitable hosts, delicious dishes, plates presentation and the stunning view. I recommend to everyone! I would like to come back here again and again

The food was fantastic. The menu has a nice variety of choices. The seafood soup was really lovely along with the two pasta dishes and the fish of the day we had. Prices are very reasonable. The setting is warm cozy and welcoming. The service was friendly and personal. We really enjoyed our dinner here. I strongly recommend driving here if you are in the area. They also have a small market for groceries.

Amazing. Great view of the river. Warm and cozy interior. Friendly staff. Wide range of food and beer. I had the fish and chips. They were light and the cod was fresh. Good taste. I had to add some salt, but everything was delicious and fresh!!
