Margaret's Tea Rooms - Swaffham

We visited Swaffham on a cold, wet autumn day and struggled to find a place for lunch. This area of Norfolk may not be as vegan-friendly as we had hoped, but Margaret's surprised us. The staff is lovely and they offer a good variety of vegan options that change regularly. We had a delicious chocolate and orange cake and a blueberry croissant. They also have vegan sausage rolls, veganized vegetarian pizzas, soup, and baked potatoes. The cafe itself is cozy and well-furnished, with sofas, comfortable chairs, a long table, and a children's playground in a separate room. Margaret's went above and beyond in catering to our vegan needs and we highly recommend stopping by for a meal if you find yourself in the area.

Upon arriving at the restaurant and inquiring about vegan options, the staff initially seemed apologetic, leading us to believe there may not be any available. However, to our surprise, they were able to accommodate our request by making their vegetarian pizzas vegan. We ordered several pizzas and found them to be delicious, with generous portion sizes and plenty of cheese. The mushroom and garlic pizza was particularly outstanding. Additionally, they offered three varieties of vegetable milk and prepared a delightful vegan hot chocolate without any cream. The restaurant is also family-friendly, with a large indoor soft play area for children to enjoy. Overall, it was an excellent dining experience.
