But to top off, the man working there sang to us as we left if you 're happy and you know it clap your hands ...like an idiot. Nice. Good job guy, you got it going on. ? ????
I absolutely love this place! I love the hot ham and cheese sandwich.
This was my First time eating here. The staff were very friendly and the food was delicious. I had the Chicken salad sandwich and it was not your ordinary recipe. It was so good. My friends had Ruben sandwiches, and They said they were delicious. I also enjoyed a nice cold draft of an IPA they had on draft. I wish I remembered my servers name because she was so nice and quick. I definitely will go back soon!
Listen as a person who works in the restaurant/service industry I’m slow to complain about service, but both of the 2 times my family came here the service was terrible. When me and my family came for dinner both times and we had the same bored, inattentive, waitress, that took all of our orders on her phone. It took forever to be watered and receive our drinks. She seemed like she just wanted to leave early. Both times the food I ordered was bland and mushy. I also had to go the counter a million times due to our waitress never checking on us. The cheesecake was good all though.
We stopped in Swansboro for a short visit on December 1, 2023. This restaurant was recommended by another shop owner. At first glance it appeared to be a quaint little sandwich shop near the waterfront so we took his suggestion and stopped in for lunch. I ordered the classic BLT and my husband ordered the Chicken Philly. Our server was pleasant and the food arrived promptly. My BLT was fairly decent (toasted bread, warm from the griddle, in a basket with plenty of chips, a pickle and a slice of fresh pineapple). My husband was not so lucky. The chicken on his sandwich was so finely shredded it was like mush in your mouth. The sauce or cheese or something in the sandwich tasted so bad he could only stomach a couple of bites. And to top it off, the bread tasted as if it had just been microwaved. After I took one bite of his sandwich, I offered to share mine, which we did, leaving all of his sandwich uneaten, with the exception of his couple of bites and my one bite. When our server brought our ticket, I commented to her that my husband’s chicken sandwich was the worst thing we had ever tasted and he couldn’t eat it. (I mean, it was obvious since pretty much the entire sandwich had been left uneaten). She simply said “I’m sorry” and walked back to the kitchen. After a few minutes, I went inside the restaurant (we had eaten on the small outdoor porch) and handed her our payment and we left. Please don’t misunderstand, we are NOT those people who go to restaurants looking to make a small complaint and be comped their meal. We always pay our bill and my husband is usually very generous in the tips he leaves. We truly felt the sauce, chicken, cheese, or something about the sandwich he was served was spoiled or going bad. It was so bad, I can’t remember when I have had WORSE!! All we would have liked is for the manager, owner, cook or someone to acknowledge our concern for the bad food. I do feel the server told them what I said about the sandwich because when I went inside to pay before leaving, she was talking with the cook as she glanced and nodded in our direction. My suggestion to you is find another place to eat, or at the least DON’T order the Chicken Philly!!!!!
