Oriental Express - Swindon

Glad I didn’t take any notice of the reviews, Food is really nice and the staff are Very pleasant..And I’ve had a take away from here quite a few times now. Definitely gets my Vote

What a shambles. Ordered chicken with bamboo shoots and water chestnut. Twice received green peppers , onions and carrot. Not 1 beans hoot ot chestnut. After many years will not use again. I hope you shut down. Poor customer service and awful food. Money down the drain

We've always ordered from Oriental Express for the last 5 years mainly because we live in Cricklade and some days you just want a delivery. Initially the food was good, fresh and tasty. The last 3 times (approx 6 months), either I or one of my family has had a stomach bug and diarrhoea following their food. To be honest I resent the fact that I have had to waste a day because I am lying in bed holding my stomach and then running to the bathroom....NOT GOOD!! I'm a nurse so I know my stuff they clearly have got a hygiene problem as they say the proof of the pudding is in the eating. The standard of service has deteriorated they have a hygiene problem. I have now told the whole household and friends locally NOT to order from them anymore. As far as I am concerned, the fact that stomach bugs and diarrhoea follow each meal is a crystal clear warning in itself. DO NOT EAT THEIR FOOD UNLESS YOU HAVE A LEAD LINED STOMACH!!

One of the people preparing food coughed in his hands, and then went straight back to handling food. Didn't wash his hands. That would be bad enough when there wasn't a pandemic virus sweeping through the country! I couldn't bear to accept my order so just went home and said a quick prayer for anyone who might have eaten from their recently. I'd steer clear of this place in for a good few months if you want to survive the COVID-19 crisis.

It is always hard to review a takeaway restaurant that fails FAILS TO DELIVER any of the food ordered. Was it so good that the delivery driver couldn 't resist the wofts of sweet and sour chicken balls whilst he was scooting across Swindon? I very much doubt it. A restaurant that FAILS TO DELIVER and has the temerity to claim that it did when they can still hear your tummy rumbling down the phone isn 't one I would recommend. We should have heeded the recent review that begged us Don 't waste your time or money . How is this place regarded as highly as #282 of 314 restaurants in Swindon? It 's a rhetorical question. We know the answer the service is beyond abysmal. A ranking of #282 of 314 is high, high praise that the Orient Express is wholly undeserving of. AVOID, AVOID, AVOID!
