The service wasn't good, it was busy with not enough staff. We were not in a hurry so it was fine but if you were it would have been frustrating. The staff were doing their best. The food was ok, I may have just ordered the wrong thing I didn't eat what I got.
Excellenct food with a warm inviting atmosphere. We booked a table for 5 people and the booking process was seamless.My partner and I have eaten in the GFP on several occasions with friends, family and recommended GFP to many. On New Years Day (01/01/24 my Mum waited 20mins for her breakfast after the rest of the table received their food. We notified 2 members of floor staff and were told on both occasions that the food was on the way. We watched as 3 other tables were served ahead of my Mum who waited a lengthy time, as mentioned above. We notified a third member of staff who questioned the staff before returning to our table to explain. All staff were polite and my Mum was not charged for her meal. I highly recommend they review how they deal with such issues in the future. We didn’t want to hear excuses or what went wrong as the third member of staff explained what had happened. We wanted the food delivered and the third staff members sympathies were useless to us. From experience in the industry I’d advise the food is delivered asap, followed by the reasoning once the customer has received their order. I was disappointed to see the 3rd member of staff (who appeared to be a floor manager she did not introduce herself or give a title. prioritise questioning staff (around the corner of where we were seated rather than going to the pass and getting the meal sent out to the customer asap. I genuinely feel the incident could have been better handled. Mistakes happen but a solution focused response would have been better than a fault finding approach to the problem.
Bad experience this time, usually swords is great service and santry used to be poor but santry is now brilliant and swords was poor this time. They forgot our whole order we waited about 40 mins for breakfast, eggs were hard and the waiter gave us 1 glass of Prosecco between 3 of us as an apology, it wasn’t overly busy so not sure what was going on. Will stick to santry in future!
