The atmosphere suffers from its location - it is dark and noisy - being located right next to the large buffet of related restaurant Cafe Opera. The menu has truffles, which is perhaps what the restaurant hangs its hat on - the other dishes are unremarkable. Service is average, not helped by my cocktail being served in a badly chipped glass. I was brought a replacement drink with an apology but not offered any form of discount or gratuity to compensate. Dishes are generous - there is also a complimentary appetiser (mine was quail with peas, mash and truffle) but that was just okay, my main was a Roast Pumpkin Terrine with side dishes of Mixed Salad, Beans and Vegetables. All side dishes are plated well but are drenched in greasy dressing or sauce and the main dish was bland. Overall, I am left with an impression of "would be if we could be" - people come for the truffles I'd say.

Went here for a vivid inspired 3 course meal and it was just delicious. The flavours of each meal were on point and just the right serving size to fill you up by the end of the meal. The service was of a high standard and the atmosphere was cosy. Priced at $95 per person (not including alcohol) it was well worth the money. Located at the back of the intercontinental we parked at the opera house which was a bit pricey but I'm sure you can find somewhere a bit cheaper. Would definitely recommend this place to family and friends.
Fine dining served in an intimate atmosphere. The service is outstanding, we had a very knowledgeable waitress who was able to also give good advice on the wines. The food was as you would expect from a top class restaurant. My only negative comment is that the chef fell victim to that typical chefs behaviour and the food was a little over seasoned for my liking, but thats a personal preferance. All in all a delicious meal.
Probably a good thing I'm at the Intercontinental as I don't know how far I would've got from 117 Dining. Really good food and service. Was here with a guest and my thoughts as follows. Got a starter of bread and dips which worked wonders to set us up later. Was very fresh and went down well. Ordered the rangers valley black angus striploin grilled over charcoal with mushrooms and black sesame cake. This paired with a bottle of 2012 wynns the siding was perfect. Meat was cooked perfect though as expected, it wasn't really enough. I do recommend here for a nice relaxed meal, but these kind of restaurants are not really my thing.
