Dovetail - Sydney

I visited this restaurant twice while in Sydney and both times the staff were friendly and polite. The coffee was excellent and I will definitely be back next time I am in Sydney.

The staff at this restaurant are always welcoming and accommodating of dietary needs. I have visited multiple times and have always left satisfied. Even my friends who need gluten-free options have been happy with their meals. The prices are fair, especially for a location in the heart of the city.

We stopped in at Dovetail for Breakfast, coffee and time to plan our day, having just arrived in Sydney. We had a breakfast panini and a pulled pork burger. The food was good, the service was fine and the cafe was in a very convenient...location.

Unfortunately the woman who served me was also busy on her phone at the same time as trying to take my order. Nice multi-skilling you might think except having to repeat the order. Not a great display of attitude for what is essentially a run-of-the-mill...place. Nothing special here. Other better alternatives available all through the shopping centre.

Eggs benedict is nearly as good as I've had anywhere. The sautéed spinach was taken a step further to the crispy stage and it was brilliant. Sauce was only average though, and what is the deal with sourdough? It has a crust like wall cladding...and most places give you a knife that would only cut soft butter, if they give you butter at all. Lightly toasted french bread would be a far better option.
