The atmosphere is energetic with music and lively conversations. The restaurant offers views of both the Sydney Harbour Bridge and the Opera House. The reviewer suggests not combining a visit to the restaurant with a guided tour of the Opera House, as the menu options are limited. However, the architecture tour was excellent. In hindsight, the reviewer would have preferred to purchase the tour and a meal separately for more variety. The food they had was well-prepared and presented, resembling that of a European ski resort restaurant. While they personally may not return due to the noise and busyness, they would recommend it to others.
I absolutely love Opera Bar - the food, the relaxed atmosphere, and even the seagulls! When we visited in the evening on a Friday, we weren't able to make a reservation but luckily we were still able to find a table. Although it was a bit far from the main area, the service was a bit slow at first but improved once we placed our orders. Ordering via a QR code on the table was convenient. The weather was pleasant, and the seafood platter and fish and chips we ordered were both delicious. The seafood platter included beer-battered fish, calamari, grilled shrimp, scallops, and chips, all of which tasted fresh. Even the fish and chips were light and perfectly cooked. I definitely recommend Opera Bar and can't wait to visit again!
Beautiful views from this non-smoking facility that turns a blind eye to escape. We were told that we had a pack of cigarettes on the table. We had no intention of smoking. The same ugly employee who was annoyed spent 20 minutes chatting and gossiping with the people on the table behind us, the merrily vaping and blowing the disgusting fake smoke everywhere. It is a shame because this is a beautiful place and the bartender was beautiful. No intention of returning.
Great location, too bad they do not predict that it self service. We had a reserved table, but the chairs and benches are so unpleasant that you are not sitting and cozy dine. The salads were fresh, the pizzas (both pepperoni and white chicken) were delicious... but the fried chicken bite overcooked. You even have to bring your own water to your table from the inside.
Visited here with friends on a sunny Thursday afternoon. Loved the location and views! Not quite enough shade so you have to be quick to get a table with a parasol. Those has water sprayers too which was nice touch. Service at the bar was...quick but also super easy to order from an app at the table. Despite getting really busy the service stayed quick and good. Nice live music. Great vibe. Not the cheapest for drinks but worth coming to this place. We didn’t eat and to be honest I don’t think the food is great all the pizzas we saw going out had burnt pepperoni my wife was relieved we didn’t order as she knows I would have rejected! Great for a drink in any case.
