Feedback gevenWe came to the cafe for lunch after good recommendation from friends. The service is great and the food is excellent especially the Asia menu. The cafe has a good surrounding with comfortable settings. Highly recommended.
We had the most delicious and sumptuous dinner. The 3 cup chicken was to die for, the steam barramundi fish was so good that I could have eaten the bones, the double happiness beans was very delicious, so was the tamarind fish curry. To top it all, the chicken rice was so good that all was gone in no time!Superb service by Monika and great hosts Edward and Jenny.I would say this is one of the best Malaysian/Indonesian eating places in Sydney.A must try!
I have been to Upperroom on four occasions and absolutely love this place, especially their Combination Hor Fun. The food is authentic Malaysian/Singaporean cuisine, is extremely well-priced considering it has table service provided by pleasant staff. As an ex-Singaporean, I'm always in search of authentic food from the region but almost as soon as one is sourced that the establishment starts cost-cutting and the food quality deteriorates. Here's hoping that doesn't happen here as I intend to make this the place I go to when I get nostalgic for food from my birthplace.
A well hidden gem in CBD. I thought Upperroom was a great place for lunch, relaxing with delicious Laksa which I always ordered. Until I went there for dinner one night with family and have the chance to order more variety of dishes. That night we have tried chicken wings; fried flat noodle with egg white sauce; salt and pepper tofu; laksa and sweet and sour pork....all were great cooking with top notch ingredients. We went back for more the following week with more people and ordered more dishes. Great restaurant run by respectful owner and friendly staff. Enjoyable and good value.
People said this place is hard to find. I was told by a friend, and the place happened to be next to our church. Signage is not clear. Cafe's appearance is not very convincing. However, lately, my soy mocca is close to perfection, the single origin cold drip is satisfying during hot weather, and the South East Asian foods are probably the best in the city. Tried the vegetarian laksa for lunch, after coming for breakfast and frequently ordered avocado toast. Lately, came for dinner and ordered steam baramundi with ginger and shallot. Simply delish. Ambience is like an oasis in Sydney CBD. Service is not always consistent, but for the price, it is table-served. More than we can ask for.
