The fine print mentioned that the "triple burger" was not included in the offer, leading me to believe that everything else on the menu was fair game. However, a rather unfriendly staff member informed me that only 2 burgers were available with the deal, making me feel like I was trying to cheat the place. Hungry and unwilling to argue, I picked one and found it to be similar to a junior burger at McDonald's, albeit with Spanish onions instead of dehydrated ones. The burger did not resemble the pictures or descriptions on the menu, and I would have been disappointed if I had paid full price for it. The drink I ordered was flat with only 2 small ice cubes, making me suspect it had been leftover from another glass. The staff seemed to resent my presence and made it clear that they did not value my patronage. This establishment constantly has Groupon offers, which may explain why. I hope they go out of business, not only because of the disappointing experience but also because of their unwelcoming attitude and specially created Groupon burger. It seems pointless for them to run these offers when all they're doing is attracting customers like me to spread negative reviews. I'm considering signing up for various food review sites just to share my experience with others.
We used a Groupon voucher at this restaurant. We all ordered burgers with chicken and chips. The burgers were small, like those you would get at McDonald's, but the chicken was tasty. The highlight of the meal was the crispy chips. While the Groupon price was reasonable, I wouldn't pay the full price of almost $26 for a burger, chips, and drink. The food was good, but the service was lacking in friendliness, so we probably won't return. The first photo with people sitting down with the "YT" letters on the wall does not match the York Trading place we visited. The York Trading we went to had a single door leading into a dark room with a kitchen, not an open kitchen like in the picture.
We ordered a nibbles platter and calamari for starters, followed by fish & chips for my wife and steak with vegetables for myself. The meals were tasty, but we found the price of $20 for two small glasses of house wine to be expensive for a restaurant of this caliber.
I returned here on the groupon offer twice since my first visit. Unfortunately both visits were dissapointing.1. My friend and i got the groupon voucher for dinner. We both ordered the york burger and we weren't happy that the patty was pink in the middle. So we asked the waitress and she advised that's how their burgers are made. So we then asked her, If we could get the burgers well done. She said yes and took our food away. She brings it back 10mins later. And when i cut it up...it still looked pink and tasted raw. And when i asked the waiter. ..why she took our plates away when they didn't cook it further. She had nothing more go say.2. My work mates and i returned to York&co on the groupon lunch offer. In our previous lunch deal we enjoyed it thoroughly, hence why we returned. However this time...we were served attitude by the staff. In our previous visit we had vegetarian aranchini balls on request. This time they told us they don't serve them. Previously we were asked to pick our burger of choice from their menu- since we enjoyed the pulled pork burger we decided to have it again. However the waitress refused again and said...it's not on the groupon offer.. which was a complete lie since the voucher indicates otherwise. After we insisted for awhile she came back and told us..we could have one pulled pork burger. So then i reminded her that we bought two vouchers so technically she should let us have two burgers and She argued back saying they would allow one pulled pork burger per table. Since there were 5 of us that wanted the pulled pork burger...we all agreed it wouldn't be fair. We left this restaurant utterly dissapointed because we returned based on our previous experience and the second time was nothing like the first. The waitress' and staff need to stop treating their customers like kids in a hostel "you better eat what we serve"!!!!
We organised a group of ten of us from work. We used the groupon deal which included the aranchini balls for starters. We had a variety of burgers to pick from and the desserts were huge for sharing. The desserts - tiramisu and panna cotta- especially were orgasmic. This deal worked out to be 20 per person.
