In this case, nothing special. An atmosphere very standard, tryng to be french without success and not a crispy kitchen. Average dishes with no charm. The service, young and nice ladies was mabe the best. No chance to go the the star restaurant.
We wanted to go to Web Christel or Alte Friesenstaube ... But it turned out that none of them were open for lunch. Instead we went to the Stadt Hamburg bistro and we were not disappointed. Great local food and very friendly service.
The welcome was very friendly and we were accompanied to our table. The service is extremely friendly and pleasant but not imposing. The menu in the gastronomic restaurant is not very big but fits in the local surrounding sea. There are several menus and some a la carte . We ate there 2 times and the food was excellent but not yet worth a Michelin . The wine menu is very large and has an excellent list of German wines (prices on the high side).
The bistro of Westerland 's Hotel Stadt Hamburg offers a fine range of mouthwatering dishes. Most of them change regularly according to season and/or what Rungis Express has on offer, others are classics: Such as Tafelspitzsülze mit grüner Sauce und Bratkartoffeln or their own Hotel Stadt Hamburger , a delicious burger made of salmon with Rösti acting the bun part. The bistro 's decoration pleases the eye: Mainly in warm yellow and bright blue, luxurious linen on the tables and a mix of antique and faux pictures on the walls, the room provides instant wellbeing. In summer you can sit outside and watch people while being shielded from passengers ' glances by a thick hedge.
Go for this elegant restaurant and ask for the main dining room with its refined atmosphere and you will leave happy. You can expect an outstanding service, a well stocked winecellar and good food. We had the light menu (3 courses) 84 Euro, a bottle Chianti 29 Euro and a bottle of water 7,50 Euro, We left 130 Euro, tip incl and went for an after dinner drink in the Kaminzimmer in front of an open fire. We had been there before and we will go there again.
