The Hops Spot - Syracuse

Used to really enjoy this place. Unfortunately my last two experiences, between the food and the staff, have been unacceptable. The poutine is always undercooked, soggy and bland. The staff is rude, arrogant, and unprofessional. It makes me sad for the owner and the whole establishment. With such disrespectful employees, poor management and below average food I’ll be surprised if they stay in business much longer.

My company recently hosted an after conference event at The Hops Spot. Every single attendee raved about the food, atmosphere and drinks! It's not easy to please an entire group of 25 while servicing a restaurant full of others, but The Hops Spot nailed it. It's a great location with a top-notch staff. This place was my go-to for a long time. Excellent beer selection and generally knowledgeable staff. Everything changed when my table was cut off for no reason and one of the squirrelly, skinny, advanced bald male bartenders pulled out a baseball bat and threatened us with it. This place is great. Love the menu items names because they are puns or references to things and very creative. The food was really good and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. The place has a small area for kids with a chalkboard and slide as well as some toys which worked great for our toddlers.

I was really excited to see in the Happy Cow app that The Hops Spot has a separate vegan menu. This made it a great choice for me and my very omnivore friend when she was in town for a visit. I ordered the Vegan Stampede and thought it was very tasty. The fries were also great. We liked the atmosphere and friendly staff. I'll definitely be back!
