Boom Boom Room Tacoma

The superbly crafted drinks are the star at the Boom Boom Room, but the food is just one step behind. Upscale comfort food we enjoyed a nice steak and a huge portion of a pasta in house made red sauce. The server told us the pasta was made to share and she wasn't kidding 2 or 3 people can share this for a smaller meal, or have a big meal by adding another dish. Our server was the best combo of old school swagger and service loved it.The claim to fame here is smoked cocktails, which they do at your table. It's fancy, a bit of show, and everyone around us that had one talked about it a definite conversation piece. The bartender the night we came in was amazing fabulous balance to our Old Fashioned and Manhattan. She was low key watching people's reactions to their drinks, to me that is one sign of a top notch mixologist.This is the kind of place where you are proud to be known as a regular.Highly recommend.

Great atmosphere and vibe. Food is good and reasonably priced. Service can be a little slow as it is usually pretty busy. Drinks are complex but good.

Decent ambiance, drinks were okay, but the fried mushrooms we ordered were the worst thing I can remember eating. I love mushrooms, but these were watery and flavorless and the batter tasted unseasoned and there was soooo much of it.

At times this place has been great for stellar cocktails. Seems it no longer is it’s always been a bar that blew up, but the food is just meh. Service is always disappointing. The drinks are still good just go elsewhere for food and don’t expect much. I kind of doubt we’ll be back after 2 years of trying to support.

Not what it use to be but the ambience is cool. I’m not a fan of the current menu. This was more of a drink stop for us.
