The serving/amount could be more generous though. Service is quick. The staff attentive. And they ban the use of plastic straws. What is unfortunate though is its interior design and choice of aesthetics. Everything seems to clash. The general look is inspired by masculine 80s hotel lobbies, as evidenced by the earth tones, the wood and metal combo, and the automobile and locomotive models displayed on a wall. But there are also scale models of tourist attractions beside these, and on another wall is a mural painting of an underwater scene that should belong to a garrish resort instead of a restaurant. The dining layout is questionable, too. It does not work in their favor. Guests are ushered to the far side of the restaurant, to the closed area where it is air-conditioned, far away from the entrance and main hall. Which means, if ever you are standing or passing by outside, looking in through the glass window, you might assume that this restaurant is empty and has no customers at all because nobody is dining in the main hall. Lastly, it does not provide any WiFi connection. No adequate parking space.
Honestly, i didn’t expect the ambiance that is so better. Its cozy and affluent, but the food is affordable and delicious. Almost all tables are set for big group such as for family and friends. Staff are courteous and able. Highly recommended restaurant when you are in Bohol. Cash card are accepted.
Everything seemed alright except for the very noisy environment. There was a family celebration happening in the other tables and they were very noisy. I understand it was not the restaurant's fault but their music added to the noise pollution. Air conditioning was great, it was super hot outside and it felt good to be freshened up inside. Food was good except that I had high expectations with their kinilaw but it didn't have coconut milk in it. Serving was fast though, I believe it didn't take 10 minutes. Ambiance wise, its very homey with the dark painted furniture and the vintage miniature vehicle displays at the sides. Staffs were very active and accommodating but they had a tendency of not smiling back. Overall, I was satisfied but they can perhaps improve with that.
What I consider as the best restaurant in Bohol, Gerarda's provides excellent Filipino dishes that would really entice your appetite. The restaurant is also staffed with waiters with service that makes you feel like a Don/Doña. The ambiance inside their dining area is truly majestic. It feels like a local lord has invited you to eat inside his fancy house. Its filled with photographs and toys of famous tourist attractions around the world such as the Eiffel Tower and the Coliseum. What I love about the place is their food. The foods are not only delicious but also comes with superb presentation. What I suggest trying is their Sizzling Chicken Omelette. It's an omelette stuffed with diced chicken, mushrooms, green peas, carrots, and other good stuffs I can't name. One mouthful of the omelette is like an explosion of different kinds of flavors in your mouth. The texture of the chicken inside the food is a winner. Their Dinakdakan is also a must try! I also would like to give kudos to our waiter for giving us a fantastic service. Rod is one of a kind, probably the best waiter I have ever seen. Food: 5/5 Service: 5/5 Ambiance: 5/5
We had dinner at this restaurant tonight and ordered the specialty set for 5-6 people. We were thoroughly impressed! The set included seafood kare-kare, dinakdak, pinaupong manok, crispy beef ribs, and a dish called cha pin (I might be getting the name wrong, but it featured delicious crispy pork belly). We also ordered extra crispy crablets. The food was served quickly, with no long wait times. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive; our server Nica answered all our questions about the dishes. The restaurant was spotlessly clean, with a handwashing area and well-maintained restrooms that even had bidets. For dessert, my siblings enjoyed buko pandan while I had the mango pandan, which had the perfect level of sweetness. The prices were very reasonable. I highly recommend this restaurant to everyone, and we will definitely be returning!
