While they did bring out my dessert earlier than I requested, I was impressed by how quickly they served our food (in under three minutes) which was delicious, albeit slightly cold. I appreciated how friendly they were in their customer interactions and how they cooked the food on the spot, allowing customers to see the process and understand the healthy options they were eating.
I dined at Kenny Rogers last Sunday with my girlfriend for lunch. As usual, the experience was solid and consistent with what you can expect from any branch of the restaurant. While I might choose other fast food chains like Jollibee, McDonald's, or KFC for convenience, if I want a filling meal, I would choose Kenny Rogers. Despite the higher price point, you know you are getting quality food for your money.
I adore their roasted chicken. It is juicy and flavorful, and the sides are fantastic. However, I found their fried chicken to be a bit dry and not as enjoyable. Although Kenny Rogers may be pricier than other fast food chicken joints, the quality and taste of their roasted chicken and sides make it worth the extra cost. I believe it is also a healthier option compared to eating fried chicken.
It's amazing how some chains survive outside the U.S. I remember the last time I went to a Kenny Rogers was back in the in Oregon but I haven't seen any since. Anyway, I think the food is somewhat mediocre and if you want...chicken with an Asian twist, check out Chicken Bon Chon (Korean chain) or the local chain Max's.
Roasted chicken is always good with plenty of options for healthy sidings. Stick with the signature dishes like chicken roast and ribs. Don't bother with the unfried fried chicken.
