Seol and Bean had a very plain exterior, resembling a hole in the wall, situated next to upscale Italian/pizzerias and cafes. The first thing we noticed was that the air conditioning was not working properly, leaving the interior uncomfortably warm. There was a leak from the AC unit, with a bucket on the floor to catch the water. The prices for the food were on the higher side, but the overall experience was disappointing. We ordered Korean ramen (which seemed like store-bought ramen with added shrimp), kimchi fried rice (bokkeumbap) that was lacking in flavor, and beef bibimbap that was decent. The mango bingsu was poorly executed, with sour mangoes, minimal syrup, and tasteless shaved milk ice. The presence of cockroaches in the restaurant was a major turn off. Other diners had already complained about this issue, but the staff did not seem bothered. Overall, we will not be returning to this restaurant.
We have sampled various flavors of their bingsu and I must say that the matcha green tea bingsu always stands out to me. Each bingsu comes with the softest, sweetest ice cream you will ever taste, making it the perfect accompaniment to any flavor combination they offer. Every option is a must-try and everyone is bound to find their own personal favorite. Their bingsu is always a hit and never disappoints!
After hearing so much about it from my partner, we decided to try bingsu, a Korean dessert made of shaved ice with fruits and sweetness. We finally visited this place for the first time and unfortunately, it didn't meet our expectations. The chocolate flavor was okay, but the mango flavor was delicious. The toppings were lacking in quantity. Despite this experience, we still enjoy this type of dessert and often visit other bingsu outlets after our meals. Overall, we recommend trying bingsu, but maybe at a different spot.
Seol bean location: the continuing strip, bonifacio global city, dayy city eat: matcha greentea bingsu (240,) ham cheese sandwich (210) kitchen: Korean personal preferred: 9 out of 10. every day on christmas thema, with Korean mvs on video walls and kr pop songs on. the background.
My friends and I went here after dinner and some drinks in Whistle Stop. It was one of those nights when we just don't want to go home yet. We definitely enjoyed eating bingsu while watching KPOP videos. It's like we were in out own...living room because the place is really homey and the seats are super comfy! I used to go to Seolhwa but I think I like this place better now, it's much bigger and I would definitely come back since near my workplace, too.
