We were nearby after a hike at YMS and were in need of some food. We decided to try this restaurant and were pleasantly surprised! All the dishes were freshly made and served quickly. The owner even took the time to come and chat with us. Although there was no English on the menu, there were plenty of pictures to help us choose. Only a few dishes contained egg, but most could be made without it. The menu clearly indicated which dishes were not vegan (although most of the menu was). Highly recommended if you find yourself in the area!
My family and I enjoyed dinner at this charming restaurant located near Shilin MRT station. The ambiance was pleasant and the food was exceptionally delicious. I highly recommend it.
It 's hard to choose, but I think this might be my favourite restaurant in Taipei. Almost all dishes here are superb. Try the enoki, the veg ham rolls, the mushroom ball-shaped croquettes, the sesame seed covered red bean crispy dessert thing, and the many other great dishes. The meal comes with very good barley tea, free of charge. No alcohol is served. It 's a 5-20 minute walk from Shilin MRT station. Little to no English is spoken, but the menu has English, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. A previous reviewer called the restaurant a 'Cosy little restaurant ' and 'A small place ', but there 's a sizeable upstairs area as well, that 's actually much nicer. Try to get seated there, instead of in the ground level part. They only open the upstairs area if it 's busy enough though. It 's not cheap, but not crazy expensive either. We paid around 400-500 NTD per person, and had quite a few shared dishes. It 's still value for money, as the food is really great, and the ingredients used are high quality as far as I can tell. This is the restaurant I take my friends to when they visit Taipei, and it 's always a big hit. Try it, you won 't be disappointed. Updated from previous review on 2019-02-03
We were randomly in the neighbourhood after a hike in the yms and needed something to eat. we have let ourselves in and were not disappointed! everything was made fresh and fast. the owner even came to talk to us. no English, but many pictures in the menu. only a handful of dishes have a ei and most can be made without. menu is clearly marked, which dishes are not vegan (most of the menu is recommended if they are in the opposite!
