Quality Japanese cuisine and service. Good venue for special event.
Probably one of the best Japanese restaurants I've ever eaten at. The ingredients were very fresh and the service was top notch. The restaurant has 3 differet sections. One is teppenyaki, one is sushi bar, and i forget what the third one is. We ended up at the sushi bar and got a set omasake. The sushi chefs and waitresses were very helpful in describing to us what each ingredient is and also telling us how to eat something if it looks like we're having trouble. They're constantly refilling the sides and drinks as soon as it's depleted. They pay very close attention to all the patrons and you can feel they really care. Great experience.
This rating is for the tapanyaki side of the restaurant. The whole restaurant has a very calming traditional Japanese feel, in light colored wood. We ordered the $2K per person set. The salad, though just a small appetizer, was very so so. The grilled fish was fresh and tender, but the sauce was not a good match. The prime beef was okay, 80g per person, was good, but lacked in flavor. The lobster was very disappointing, no sweetness, not good texture. I think it was the type of local lobster. The service did not live up to a 5-star hotel standard, forgot to give us tea and towel, my latte came out with just milk only, they were not very attaintive.
The food is alright, but the quality is questionable. The main course’s presentation and the fact that the garlic are served cold makes me wonder if this really qualifies the category. Overall, ehhhh.
