The chocolate-banana biscuit roll is really good, same counts for most of their other sweet creations. There is also this one thing filled with some citrus-chunks (can't remember the name) which was very tasty. 100% vegan

They have a few locations in Taipei. The photos you see here are from the shop in Da’an which I find having the best selection, and it is located right next to my favorite vegan restaurant, Flourish. You are first greeted with the Japanese garden in the entrance. There are also some seats outside where you can eat after you’ve bought the bread. Inside Yiihotang, the decor continues the Japanese influence with light wooden decor and lanterns. Just like any good bakery, the smell from the freshly made bread is amazing. Staff is busy making and refilling the racks with fresh baked goods. In the middle of the shop you will find the most popular breads. Their salted soy milk roll and pineapple bun are always on the top of the list. You may also see bread with red bean, cheese, or chestnut filling. One of my favorite items here is their salted ‘egg’ pastry. Using pumpkin as egg, they are able to veganize this famous pastry in Taiwan. The lightly salted ‘egg’ is paired with sweet red bean paste for a balance and satisfying dessert. Another highlight is the pineapple cake, a famous Taiwanese pastry dessert with pineapple jam filling. Other than those, you can find sweet and savory breads, muffins, cookies, and even their latest creation, soy ice cream on a bread cone. One complaint is that they use quite a lot of packaging. Other than the pre-packaged items, bread will be put in their individual bags when you pay. Overall, this vegan bakery is a must-go no matter if you are vegan or not.
It’ll be a little hard to describe how good this place is in words but i’ll try my best. Not only did this place have great reviews, but it was also close by. So I went there and I was blown away. The food here scaled from Apple Cinnamon cupcakes to Scallion Bread. It is mildly expensive but the food is worth the price. And I haven’t mentioned the lovely outdoor seating area to enjoy your food! I strongly suggest this bakery if you are in the area!
I arrived before 12 so there was everything which was overwhelming as I wanted everything! In the end I settled on a potato bun a scallion bread, so [censored] good especially the scallion bread with a smidge of chili, perfect. I will be back tomorrow before I leave to see how much I can fit in my suitcase! I'm writing this around the corner in Ray's Cafe with a lovely coffee with Oatly in. So a typhoon messed up my plans but I did manage a quick return in all the chaos. I grabbed a couple of scallion breads, a peanut butter topped bun, 3 bagels:soy milk, strawberry blueberry. Also a little pineapple cake which Taiwan is famous for. Had I not been in such a rush panic I would have bought almost one of everything but what I did get didn't disappoint, everything is delicious and the girl gave me a free soy milk too. Next time I'm in Taipei I will definitely be visiting here to try more of their products. Updated from previous review on 2019-08-08
