The pepper jelly on the grilled cheese was delicious and the chicken schnitzel condiments paired perfectly with the meat. Would give it an A+ personally! Highly recommend this place!
The place to wine in Takoma Park or DC. PERIOD. The pretzel, the schnitzel sandwich, the smoked trout, the cheeseburger. Amazing personal and friendly service. In a pandemic. Saved my family for the past year; endlessly greteful.
A wine bar, restaurant, market and deli. The Girl and the Vine have something for everyone. Great food from vegan mushroom ruben to full charcuterie, sandwiches and more. They have a great wine selection by the glass and by the bottle, and lots of tasty beers too. Outdoor and indoor bar sit with your comfort. They also have an outdoor fireplace and cozy blankets.
As a vegetarian I'm not pleased they've really cut down the vegetarian menu and I simply can't eat there. I don't understand why in the middle of Takoma Park you'd do that!I can get why you'd want to make a new menu BUT before scrapping the only options for a significant part of your market shouldn't you have other options available? It's pathetic, I can make a grilled cheese at home and the parmesan eggplant is ok but not stellar. I'm not trying to pay an arm and leg for charcuterie, I don't eat salads for lunch and with digestive issues your chili is a no-go.It's not that hard to have good Veggie options, you have so many great sandwiches that if you wanted to make them veg you could easily do so which tells me you just don't care about locals like me who have been here for decades. What's even worse is that going back nearly 30 years the restaurant at that location has always had amazing veg sandwiches, be it vegan chicken at Savory or a pesto egg and cheese from Capitol City Cheesecake. From a marketing standpoint this makes no sense I was going to order a banh mi and grab a 6 pack at a location that has historically always served me with great Veggie options. I'm a built in, ready made customer and they decided hey, her money isn't worth my time. They're so expensive that the only time I buy any beer or wine is if I'm getting a sandwich.Welp, good bye girl and vine. You don't value me as a customer, I don't value your stupidly expensive items (which are cheaper if you simply go to ANY other store, including the liquor store about 1 mile away by the metro).
My favorite Takoma Park neighborhood spot for food, coffee, beer and wine. I love the wine club, always an interesting and delicious selection. It’s also my go to for business meetings thanks to their excellent outdoor seating
