Rita's is conveniently situated infront of V-Mall in Greenhills. They have the order counter at the middle of the walkway, and a dine-in room at the back, which is already part of the mall. There are tables and chairs on the walkway in between. We are not familiar with the menu, and how to order, so we asked the lady on the counter (very patient and attentive to our questions). She explained patiently the difference between the "Ice flavors" and the "Custard". We asked for their Best Seller, she said it's Vanilla Custdard on Mango flavored Ice. We didn't order that though. I ordered a Large Gelati with Chocolate Chip Ice and Chocolate Custard. Yep, all chocolate. I thought they'll serve it to me with straw, but they gave me a spoon. I just thought, "Oh, this IS a dessert. haha" I loved the taste of Chocolate Custard. For some reason, it tastes the same with a chocolate ice cream I ate when I took a vacation in Saudi Arabia, more than 10 years ago. It's creamy, and it doesn't taste like the regular ice creams you buy from grocery stores. The Ice is a turn down for me though. It just tastes like watered down chocolate drink, with chocolate bits. It's uber sweet as well. I asked a friend to taste it for me. He filled half a glass with the watered down Ice, then filled it up to the brim with milk, and he said the drink is still sweet. I ate most of the custard first (because it's that good), then mixed what's left with the ice, still tasted the same -- nothing special. The Cost: P180. I'll probably order just the custard next time. My partner, on the other hand, ordered a Large Blendini with Chocolate Chip Ice and Vanilla Custard with Chopped Peanuts and Chocolate Chip Toppings. Her dessert costs P220. She likes it, but was not that amazed. She said it's just okay, and it's not something you'll crave for. We'll still pick Dairy Queen's Blizzards over Rita's.Overall Verdict: It's okay. I recommend you try it for experience, maybe start with regular sized cups (we regret ordering Large). I will definitely be back to try other stuff. But for me, there's nothing special about the Blendini and the Gelati, and they're overpriced. Probably because of all the sweetness. :D
This is addicting! Shaved ice with fresh fruits blended together. U cn also choose different toppings. Try to download their online app so u cn earn some stamps when u buy their product!
It's my first time to try their offers and also my visit on their Alabang Town Center Branch, and I already feel like making a review out of the experience. I ordered a Gelati in Regular cup (Italian Ice + Custard on top and bottom). I chose Strawberry-Banana Ice then the combination of Chocolate and Vanilla for the Custard. No problem regarding the serving, I was not able to totally finish it because the custard on top made me full already. I really liked the sweetness of Strawberry-Banana Ice, plus the few bits of banana that I can chew. Here comes the problem: although the Choco-Vanilla Custard was so creamy, thick and not too sweet; I was able to taste the eggs on it! Well yeah, I do bake so I know that in order to make custards, you’ll be needing eggs. It made me sad, really really sad. I don’t know but my friend said she was not able to taste the eggs on her custard (we ordered the same flavor for custard).I am writing this for people out there who doesn't like eggs that much. Especially like me, but I don’t know if other people (who doesn’t like eggs) can taste the flavor of eggs on anything even if it’s blended. But to make things clear, I don’t taste egg on breads, cakes, cupcakes and the like.I do not totally hate it, for I liked the flavors of the Italian Ice. Maybe if I was not able to taste eggs on the custard, I might totally love it. Also, my friend said there’s nothing too special about it, it didn’t made her feel like coming back to try the other flavors.
Choose from a variety of concoctions whipped up according to your specs: Italian Ice, Frozen Custard, Italian Ice topped with custard (Gelati), Italian Ice with custard and toppings (Blendini), Milkshake, Frozen drinks and Misto shake.Prices range from 100 - 190 PhP.Their sour flavors are the best sellers, but tried the Cookie Dough Ice + Strawberry and Chocolate Custard (Gelati) and it made for a happy afternoon snack. :) The custard is Incredibly creamy, subtly flavored, worth coming back to.This branch does not have much seats, the treats are really meant to be eaten on the go. If you haven't yet, drop by and try some of their frozen goodies (especially the custard!).
Some may say that this is just ordinary dessert but for some it is new. Italian ice is like snow cone with some classic fruity flavors. The frozen custard is a little smoother than the usual ice cream. Then they have this best seller of Gelati in which you choose your Italian ice topped with a frozen custard. That's what makes it different from other desserts. It has this amazing taste of sour in your ice with the sweetness from the custard. But if you don't appreciate, you can have the Blendini. It is the same with Gelati but they are the one whole mix it for you. Instead of getting a Gelati then struggling mixing it cause of the custard on top. You can just ask for Blendini so you can have it mixed together. Plus you can add some toppings and syrups on your Blendini which makes it more delightful.
