Feedback gevenMy husband and I had a very rare date weekend without the kids this weekend. We booked a cottage at Camelot (amazing!) and decided to go to heritage wines for dinner because they had the best looking menu. Honestly the best night we have had! Firstly greeted by beautiful staff. Next the most delicious dinner. After that we sat at the bar and had drinks talking to the beautiful owners all night. Wish we lived closer so we could visit often. Thank you for such a wonderful experience x
They took more than half an hour to set our table although a reservation had been made. The food choices were good however they took an hour and a half before we were served the mains and another Alf an hour before dessert. The restaurant was not at it's full capacity even though the meals were severely delayed.
Went to The Heritage for wine tasting and served by a lovely lady that is genuinely passionate about the estate and wines they offer. Think she might be the owner/manager as she is very knowledgeable and able to multitask elegantly between serving us and helping to bring food out to the tables. We were fascinated by the historical pieces that made some parts of the building, where she proudly shared the stories and pointed out the location to us in between the tasting. She patiently went through the wine list for tasting, focusing with the type of wines that we like and happily making suggestions. Asking how we think of each wine that we just tasted and build the tasting journey from there. At one point, she even purposely poured a red wine slowly to let a friend took a close up picture of the wine being poured onto the glass. We didn't try the restaurant but it has scenic views over the valleys. It surely is a beautiful backdrop for special occasions. Would love to try to dine in next time, hope the food is as great as the wines.Nice wines, great host, beautiful place..very recommended!
Six friends tried the Heritage for Sunday lunch for the first time and we certainly were not disappointed. The atmosphere, the service, the food and the value were all first class. Our group selected the beef and Guinness pie, the lamb shanks and the barramundi special with the massaman sauce. All of us enjoyed what we chose. The wine was from the associated Herirage Winery which did not deter us but might be a negative to some people. The restaurant is roomy, providing comfortable chairs. Currently they are running an art gallery on the internal balcony which is interesting. After lunch we moved outside to enjoy coffee and a bit of live music. A very nice afternoon. Now we must try the Heritage for dinner.
The drive up the mountain offered some stunning views. The Heritage grounds were pleasant with enough parking and the restaurant had great views. We arrived about 11:30 am. It was quite busy at the bar with wine tasters, and there were quite a lot of people in the restaurant. A fire at the end of the room looked very cosy.It was a lovely sunny day, so we had a couple of drinks and lunch in the courtyard, with live music. Very pleasant! We shared a portion of garlic bread, then I had home-made soup, which was delicious. My husband had lamb shank, which he said was very good. The servings were generous, so we didn't have dessert.Make sure you take a jacket in case you feel a bit chilly, a breeze started mid-afternoon and I was glad of my pashmina. We left about 3:30 pm.
