Palaus - Tampa

This is Tampa’s best-kept secret for outstanding Cuban cuisine! Tony, the owner, is an incredible cook! We dropped by on Friday night (he’s open until 7 PM on Fridays) for a delightful seafood dinner. My "honeymoon fish" was a perfectly cooked snapper filet topped with crabmeat. We wrapped up our meal with a superb café con leche flan! The service deserves a five-star rating too!

I drove over an hour to visit this place for their authentic Cuban cuisine. The staff are extremely nice, gorgeous people and beyond helpful. They're indoor dining is much more of a cafeteria, but charming. There are a few outdoor tables if you want some sun. The food is to die for and makes up for ambience. This place is worth my trip and deserve the recognition. Do not miss out on a Cafe con leche!! Tiny place with great service! Despite being a small counter-service, they will bring your food to your table like a real restaurant should be. The food had great flavor. I had the Arroz Guajiro which is a rice dish containing multiple meats, like a “meat paella”. I tried their amazing chicken noodle soup and a vanilla flan. I prefer cheese flan over vanilla, but it was great. Try Palaus! Enjoy!
