Did not eat here. drove to taormina to try this restaurant due to the ad seen on a 2023/2024 magazine which stated the restaurant was wheelchair accessible and catered for vegans. on arrival we found the wheelchair lift was not functioning and shows it had not been used or maintained in a long time ur to rust, dust and cobwebs.
We came here many years ago and food was decent. However, none of our group could say the same this time. Such a shame as this could be such a lovely restaurant what with the views if they invested some money effort into it. Plus a decent chef. At best, the food was like something from a rubbish cafe. Garlic bread and bruschetta turned up as two little rock hard pieces of bread with some unappetising tomato concoction on (bruschetta) garlic bread looked dry. It must be harder to get garlic bread and bruschetta wrong than it is right but this restaurant managed it! I had the mixed grilled fish, which had a few bits thrown on a plate and was rubbery. My husband had a pizza which was actually fine but others had the chicken (dry) and lasagne (tiny portion that looked like it had come straight out of the microwave). The others dinners were equally rubbish and presentation was poor to say the least. We just wanted a night of basic food after eating out at some wonderful restaurants but there’s basic and then there’s this. Toilets were gross and just couldn’t wait to get out of there. It really is a shame
Got a good takeaway pizza from here one evening so decided to return for dinner a couple of evenings later and we were pleased with the food and service. Hubby had a delicious cream of tomato soup followed by chicken fillet and fries and I had bruschetta and mussels in tomato sauce which were all fine. Good value food with sensational views over the bay.
This place is out of this world ! Situated near bus station next door to the cable cars . You go downstairs and the panoramic views are astounding. Very welcomed by Jenny and staff . I am scottish and Jenny was originally from Scotland ! Only had drinks but the food menu was extensive and reasonably priced . The welcome and the views are well worth a visit , best restaurant in tourmina ! If you visit Catania in Sicily tourmina is a must day trip for the most special little town up in the mountains. Great shopping , lots of bars and places to eat . Visit the Douna ! Tourmina can be quite busy with tourists , although adds to the charm of this beautiful town . Do not miss it !
