Spa gate is one of the most popular fish and chips shop at Taupo, and I can tell you why. Went to Taupo as a stopover and I am so glad we did. Their fish was fresh, service was quick. Ordered the smaller seafood pack and two extra oysters, Decent portion size even for two adults and quite a good batter on their fish not too thick, not too thin and not too greasy. The fish was crunchy on the outside and steaming hot running with juice on the inside. Their chips were cooked perfectly too. Give it a try next time you stopover at Taupo. Recommended. Parking could be an issue tho, maybe easier to park slightly further and walk over, also those extra few steps might give you the warrant to order an extra piece or two of golden fried goodies.

The best fish and chips, whenever from taupo happen, I will try my best to find a opportunity to have meal here. it is always the top to do on my list. the best is flounderpack. if there is no flounder, fresh fish or oysters with chips are impressively delicious and fresh!

The fish was cooked nicely, the teig was light and crispy, the cheeseburger was large with fresh salad and tomato and a good size patty. they will be recommending

Fish and chips are great as well as the inkfish rings and maishund. it is not too expensive either. highly recommended to grab and bring to the sea. we had without, but it was still pretty good!
